VIOLET OCHRE is a natural earth constituted by a good amount of iron oxides, naturally submitted to very high temperatures, even above 1000°C. It's the natural version of the famous "caput mortuum", traditionally obtained in laboratories by means of calcination of iron oxides at high temperatures. This watercolor is prepared with an Armenian pigment.
