Red Ochre

Available versions:

This watercolor of ours is prepared with a French RED OCHRE, the finest within the ones available and the most charged in iron oxides. The red color originates indeed from the oxides of this metal exposed to quite high temperatures. It is an ancient pigment and is used since millennia by the humankind to achieve his artistic works: it is the most permanent of all pigments and we can still appreciate it, for example, in the paintings of the cave of Altamira in Spain.
