This watercolor is prepared with Cobalt Cerulean Blue pigment, chemically cobalt stannate. This is an historical pigment, prepared for the first time at the end of the 1700s, but it spread among artists mostly since the second half of the XIX century. It's extremely lightfast, it has a low tinting strength, it's semi-opaque and is quite greener than Cobalt Blue.
