Cobalt Blue Deep

Available versions:

Watercolor prepared with the mineral pigment Cobalt Blue, chemically a blue spinel made of cobalt aluminate. This pigment was probably already in use during the dynastic Egypt, but was rediscovered in Europe towards the end of the 1700s and has been successfull since the XIX century till today. It's extremely lightfast, semi-transparent, it has a moderate tinting strength and when dry it appears a bit lighter than wet. The texture of this watercolor is close to that of an earth: so we might call it "natural".
